CLAWS by Shojo Punk is a virtual nail studio, an alternative to the traditional salon experience where I create custom, one-of-a-kind luxury gel press-ons nails that you can order from the comfort of your own home or anywhere else — no commute, no small talk over a nail lamp, just art made for your hands. Each set is custom-sized, meticulously painted, and carefully finished, so that when you press them on, they feel like they were always meant to be yours.
These aren't the flimsy one-night-only sets you remember from the drugstore. Made with the same professional‑grade products used in modern nail salons, each set is handcrafted for durability, comfort, and repeated wear. They deliver the fit, shine, and feel of a luxury gel set without the endless appointment shuffle. Apply them at home, switch them up whenever the mood strikes and enjoy them again and again.
I don't come from a traditional nail tech background, I come from a foundation in art and design. I've been an artist since I could hold a crayon and my educational background in fashion design shapes the way I build a set: considered, intentional, and meant to be worn like it was made for you. But what sets me apart isn't just my creative background — it's the quality of every product I work with. I choose professional-grade gels primarily from Japan, Korea, and Taiwan for their clarity, strength, and beautiful self-leveling finish. My goal is to offer that same level of quality in gel press-ons that feel personal, wearable, and effortlessly accessible without compromise in quality or aesthetics.
Single color or effect sealed in high gloss or velvet matte for uninterrupted saturation. Pure color without distractions.
French tips, soft ombrés, or accent nails with light art, stickers, charms, and other small touches for an elevated finish.
Multi‑layered artwork on most nails that merges mixed media, specialty finishes, and meticulous techniques to create rich depth, texture, and dimensional impact.
You choose the length and shape. Select a theme from my curated mood boards or leave the concept entirely to me, and I'll design and refine the final set in my style.
Full‑coverage artistry with hand‑painted details, embedded elements, and layered textures for a set that commands attention.
Standard flat rates cover all shipping fees. Please reach out before placing your order for all other destinations so that I can confirm availability and provide an accurate quote.
To ensure a precise fit, all new clients begin with a sizing kit. Each set is made to order and this step is the foundation of your final design — it determines the exact size that will look and feel the most natural on you. While minor adjustments can be made during application, a tip that's too small cannot be reshaped to fit. If you're exploring a new shape, I also recommend a fresh sizing kit to confirm your fit and ensure your set arrives ready to wear. Because each set is made specifically for you, refunds are not offered for sizing issues. However, the cost of each sizing kit is credited toward your first full set in that shape, so you can experiment with confidence. Sizing kits can be ordered at any time.
Orders open every Sunday at 10 AM PST and remain open until Tuesday at the same time or until all spots have been claimed — whichever comes first. To keep my workflow balanced and ensure every set receives the time and attention it deserves, I take on a limited number of commissions each week.
Once we've connected and talked through your design, I'll send over a PayPal invoice. Payment is due within 24 hours of the invoice being sent, and your order is confirmed once payment has been received. Production begins after payment. Each set is carefully crafted, packaged, and prepared with intention. Orders are completed in the order payments are received. When your set is finished, it's shipped out with care every Friday.

What makes your press‑ons different from drugstore nail sets?
The short answer is: Everything. These aren't the flimsy, mass‑printed plastic tips from the beauty aisle, they are handmade gel press-on sets built with salon-level technique. Each set is crafted using professional-grade gel products selected for their pigment quality, smooth application, and lasting finish — materials trusted by working nail artists for their consistency and performance.
The result is a bespoke set with a refined finish you can see and feel the moment that they're on. Everything is considered, elevated, and tailored to you. You're getting the kind of results people typically book weeks in advance for without the appointment or the time sink. I treat every nail like its own canvas, shaped and finished with intention so the full set feels complete. Once they're on, I feel that the difference is pretty immediate.
Which brands and materials do you work with in your designs?
Every set begins with Aprés GEL‑X® nail tips available in five shapes and in extra short, short, and medium lengths, providing a precise and consistent foundation for each design. From there, I work with professional-grade gels as the core of my collection. Kokoist (in particular, their Nail Thoughts line), Presto, Aprés, and Yogurt Nail Kr form the foundation, alongside other Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, and independent gel brands selected for their texture, pigment depth, and specialty finishes that aren't typically found in mass-market products.
Beyond gels, my designs draw from a library of embellishments and fine art materials — resin and metal charms, dried florals, gems and stones, organic materials, and other hand-selected details. As a mixed-media artist, I also draw from my collection of traditional art materials like gouache, watercolor, colored pencils, and alcohol ink markers to create effects that go beyond what gel can achieve alone. Everything is sourced through verified distributors rather than bulk marketplaces, so each material is intentional and accounted for. From base to topcoat, every element is chosen to create a finished set that feels cohesive, refined, and fully considered.
What's included when I order a set from you?
Each order includes a full set of ten (10) custom nails and two (2) coordinating replacement nails in a universal size. With proper care, your set is built for repeated wear, but an extra exact replacement can always be purchased separately by reaching out.
Every order also includes a complete application kit with everything you need for prep, application, and removal. Inside you'll find alcohol pads, a file, buffer, and cuticle pusher for prep; both sticky tabs and nail glue for application; and a micro swab and spoolie to help with clean-up both during and after removal. Depending on availability, your order may also include the occasional surprise — like stickers, charms, or other little extras — added in as a thank-you.
How are the nails packaged for shipping? Is gift packaging available?
It is important for me that every full set is packed with presentation in mind, so the goal is for it to feel like you're opening something special — less like a shipment, more like a reveal. Even when we're not working one-on-one during creation, the packaging is designed to reflect that same level of intention from the arrangement of each piece to the way the set is presented when you open it.
Gift packaging isn't something you need to request, it's already part of how every order is prepared. If you are sending a set as a gift or want it to feel a little more special, I'm happy to include a handwritten card and add a bit of extra sparkle! Just leave a note when you place your order and I'll do my best to accommodate your request where possible.
Sizing kits ordered separately are shipped in clean, protective mailers with everything needed to find your fit and get you started.
How do I measure my nails to ensure the best fit before ordering?
To find your perfect fit, you'll want to start with a sizing kit. Each kit includes one tip in every size offered with the size number etched on the back and printed underneath for easy reference. To size, gently place each tip over your natural nail without applying pressure. The correct fit will cover your nail bed from side wall to side wall without overlapping onto the skin. It should sit flush against the nail with no major gaps, but never feel tight or forced.
Make sure to size all ten fingers individually; even if they look similar, each hand can vary slightly. Record the size for each finger as you go so you have a full set of measurements ready. If you're between sizes, always choose the larger one. A slightly oversized tip can always be reshaped for a perfect fit, but an undersized one will never fit properly.
Taking the time to size carefully ensures your set wears comfortably and looks seamless once applied. I find Aprés GEL‑X® nail tips are super inclusive, but please don't hesitate to contact me if you are having trouble finding your perfect fit as specialized sizing may be an option. If you ever want a second opinion or help interpreting your results, feel free to reach out at hello@shojopunk.com.
Do you accept custom requests beyond your current menu?
Yes! I’m always open to custom requests beyond my current menu, especially when it comes to shapes, lengths, or larger orders that may qualify for a discount. If you have something specific in mind, mention it in your initial request so we can talk through what's possible and what it would look like in practice. Some adjustments may also affect pricing depending on the scope of the request, but I'll always walk you through the options so everything feels clear before we move forward.
What tools or adhesives give the best results for application?
Your included application kit will get you far, but if you’re serious about press-ons, investing in a few key tools can help make your prep more thorough and really make a noticeable difference in your overall wear time.
For adhesives, I recommend a high-quality air-dry nail glue designed specifically for press-ons. These help create a stronger bond by filling in micro-gaps between the natural nail and the tip. Common options include SOFbond™ Nail Glue and the Beauty Secrets Drip & Clog Proof Nail Glue. I recommend avoiding UV-cured glues, as UV light cannot properly penetrate opaque press-ons to cure adhesive evenly, which can lead to weak bonding, early lifting, and can be a fast track to contact dermatitis.
For prep and reuse, I recommend tools that help clean up the back of your press-ons between wears, like a dual-ended cuticle pusher with adhesive abrasive pads to remove leftover glue without damaging the nail surface or if you're a bit more confident, a small electric nail file with a mandrel bit and sanding bands.
Investing in quality tools always pays off. It's always better to spend a little more on something that lasts than to settle for the cheapest option available. If you're ever unsure about what would work best for your routine, you can always reach out and I'll guide you based on how you like to wear your nails.
How long will they last? Can they be worn again?
With proper prep and application, my press-ons typically wear for around 7-14 days with nail glue or a few days when using adhesive tabs. Wear time depends on a few factors: the nail bed should be clean and free of oil or residue, the adhesive should be applied evenly, and the nails should be worn with a bit of care day to day. Frequent water exposure or unnecessary stress on the nails can shorten wear time, while a gentler routine helps them stay secure for longer.
With proper removal and care, my nails are designed to be worn again. I use high‑quality materials that hold their shape and shine, so once old glue or tabs are removed and the nails are stored safely, you can bring them back out for another wear whenever you like.
How long does it take for my order to be made and delivered?
Orders are accepted Sunday through Tuesday and I aim to ship all completed sets that Friday. From the time an order is placed, most U.S. deliveries arrive within 7–10 days, depending on location. Sizing kits ordered separately are shipped daily so they reach you as quickly as possible.
Will I receive tracking information once my order ships?
Yes, tracking is provided for all domestic orders. You'll receive your tracking number as soon as your label prints, so you can follow your package every step of the way.
Do you ship internationally, and are there any restrictions?
Yes, I do offer international shipping, but it's handled on a case-by-case basis. If you're located outside the United States, Mexico, or Canada, please email me at hello@shojopunk.com so I can provide a shipping estimate and confirm whether delivery is available to your location.
International orders are subject to your country's import rules. This means customs duties, taxes, and any additional fees are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in my pricing. Delivery timelines can vary depending on customs processing, and once a package leaves the US, tracking updates may be limited depending on the carrier and destination.
Because each country handles imports differently, it is your responsibility to make sure your order complies with local regulations. I'm unable to offer refunds for packages that are refused, returned, or held by customs.
What is your policy on refunds or exchanges?
Each set is custom made to order with the utmost care, so refunds are only issued in the rare case of an incorrect or damaged item. Refunds are not offered for lost or stolen packages or for sizing issues, which is why completing a sizing kit first is required to achieve the most accurate fit for your set.
If you feel something isn't right with your order, please reach out at hello@shojopunk.com with any relevant details and photos so we can review it together and figure out how to best move forward.
